Government in debt – fines go up! Any correlation?

Written by Gavin Webb, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate on 3 July, 2009 – 7:29 am -

I’ve just published an article over at Liberal Vision on the recent announcement by Government to increase the fines from £30 to £60 for not wearing a seat belt whilst driving. Why not go and have a read?

Save our Pubs and Clubs

Written by Gavin Webb, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate on 23 June, 2009 – 8:48 pm -

Today I signed up to show my support for the newly launched campaign, ‘Amend the Smoking Ban – Save our Pubs and Clubs’.  It’s pretty clear from the title what it’s about.  Why not have a look and give your support too?

Though this campaign has my support, I stick by my argument that there should be no laws in place governing where people can and cannot smoke.  Instead, this should be left up to property owners or renters to decide.

If they want smoking on their premises it’s their choice.  If they don’t like smoking, fine by me.  If they want to cater for all their customers they may choose to have smoking and non-smoking areas.  Radical eh?

This campaign is a step in the right direction, but what a state of affairs we live under when such steps have to be taken to reclaim just some of our property rights from government.

These sick people, who seem to believe that child abuse is happening in every family home in the land have, in my view, serious psychiatric problems and should seek help. Read more »
